Maintenance and Servicing for Contract Hire
Taking out a full maintenance and servicing package with a contract hire vehicle will ensure that your vehicle is in its best working order, is safe and fit for purpose and will minimise your vehicle downtime.

What happens if my vehicle breaks down?
All manufacturers offer at least one year breakdown cover and most manufacturers now offer 3 years cover as standard. The vehicle book pack will contain a breakdown recovery number which you can phone any time. Where the manufacturer offers only one year standard breakdown cover you can extend the cover for the duration of your lease agreement as part of the maintenance package.
What do I do when my vehicle needs serviced or repaired?
If maintenance is included in your contract then a contact number will be provided from the contract hire company from which you can book the vehicle into a local approved garage. This number will take you to a dedicated maintenance team who can also assist with any problems or questions you have regarding your vehicle’s servicing and repair. You may also book your vehicle into your local franchised dealer directly as long as you make sure that they have an account with the relevant funder. Your registration number will indicate to the dealer which finance house your vehicle is with.
With a few days notice the funder can arrange collection and delivery of your vehicle for servicing and repair.
There are about 6,000 dealers throughout the UK that have maintenance accounts with the funders that The Van Warehouse use.
All invoicing for work done is handled by the finance house and the dealer.
What do I do about replacing tyres?
Tyre replacement is covered by the fair wear and tear guide as outlined by each funder and usually covers tyres that are worn to a thread measurement of 2mm. You simply book your car into one of the national fast fit tyre companies such as Kwik-Fit or ATS who have an agreement with the relevant funder.
Your registration number will indicate to the tyre company which finance house your vehicle is with.

What happens if my windscreen is damaged?
Glass replacement is not included in most maintenance contracts, however some funders do offer glass replacement cover at an additional charge.
What if I need a replacement vehicle?
Replacement cars and light commercial vehicles can be made available to customers who choose to take out a Relief Vehicle option alongside their monthly maintenance contract.
Alternatively you can use our
daily rental service a use as you need basis. With our preferential rates this can be a much more cost effective method of keeping mobile.
What if I need an MOT?
You can call the maintenance support contact number provided by each funder to arrange an MOT.
What about Road Tax?
Whether you take maintenance or not, on every car leasing and van leasing contract road tax is included for the duration of the contract and will automatically be posted to your premises.
